The Director of Centre
for Automotive Training, Transport and Logistics (CATTL), Akwa Ibom State
University (AKSU) is the Immediate Past Ag. Head, Department of Mechanical
Engineering, Faculty of Engineering, Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU). He is the Immediate Former Chapter Chairman
of the Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMechE), Akwa Ibom State
Chapter, a former National Council Member and a Fellow of the Institution
He holds B.Eng (Mech)
Second Class Upper in 2002 from the University of Uyo, an M.Sc (TurboM) in 2007
from the University of Sussex, United Kingdom and a Ph.D. (Mech. Eng), 2014,
University of Sussex, United Kingdom. He is a Mechanical Engineer with specialization
in Turbomachinery
Prior to his present position at AKSU, Dr. Ekong was
a researcher at the Thermo-Fluid Mechanics Research Centre and Rolls-Royce
Supported University Technology Centre, University of Sussex, United Kingdom,
and the Best M.Sc., Student in Turbomachinery - Department of Engineering and
Design, School of Science and Technology, University of Sussex, United Kingdom
(2006/07 Academic Session).
He is a Rolls-Royce Plc trained and Certificated Research Engineer. A Reviewer for the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) International Mechanical Engineering Congress and Exposition (IMECE) 2013.
