About Director
Dr. Ini-Ibehe Nabuk Etim is currently the Ag. Director,
Directorate of Advancement, International Collaborations and Linkages, Akwa
Ibom State University, Nigeria (AKSU). He recently won the National Key
Research and Development Program of China Grant as an Ass. Professor in May
2026. He was a Visiting Ass. Professor at the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy
of Sciences (2024 - 2025). He was the former Ag. Head, Department of Marine
Science, AKSU, Nigeria (2021-2024). He is also a facilitator at the Africa
Centre of Excellence for Future Energies and Electrochemical Systems
(ACE-FUELS), FUTO, Nigeria. He is an awardee of the prestigious Chinese Academy
of Sciences President's International Fellowship Initiative (CAS PIFI) as a
High Talent Visiting Scientist at the Institute of Oceanology CAS (2023). In
2025, he was nominated as one of the Key Experts in the International
Collaborative Laboratory for Material Corrosion and Protection for Belt and
Road Countries at Northeastern University, China. He’s an awardee of the
Chinese Government Scholarship, CSC (2015). He is an ARIFA Postdoctoral Nominee
at the Federal University of Santa Catarina (UFSC), Florianopolis, Brazil. He
obtained his Ph.D. degree in Materials Science and Engineering (with a
specialty in Marine Corrosion and Protection) from the Institute of Metal
Research, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, China. He obtained his M.Sc.
degree in Physical Chemistry in 2015 and B.Sc. in Marine Chemistry in 2010 from
the Department of Pure and Applied Chemistry, University of Calabar, Nigeria.
Recently, he facilitated the Joint Laboratory Collaboration between Akwa Ibom
State University and the Institute of Oceanology, Chinese Academy of Sciences. He
is a Guest Editor and one of the Youth Editorial members of the Journal of Iron
and Steel Research International. He has over 70 scientific publications in
international peer-reviewed journals in Microbial Biocorrosion, Marine Science,
Electrochemistry, and Corrosion Protection of Materials. He has attended and
presented at several international conferences. He is a member of the China
Society of Corrosion and Protection (CSCP), the African Materials Degradation
Society (AMDS), and the Chemical Society of Nigeria (CSN).
