<div><strong>Dr Grace Idiong Christopher, </strong>a Registered Animal Scientist <strong>(RAS) </strong>holds a PhD degree in <strong>Animal Nutrition and Biochemistry</strong> obtained from the University of Calabar, Nigeria in 2015. She is an emerging scholar who has put in 8 years in the university system, teaching, carrying out research and providing community services. Her area of specialty is <strong>Nutrition and Biochemistry of ruminants and non-ruminants,</strong> while her current research interest is in the area of assessing the <strong>potentials of readily available non-conventional feedstuffs as replacements for basal energy and protein in the diets of domesticated animals in the tropics.</strong> She has done extensive research using <em>Cola rostrata</em> (non-conventional feedstuff) to replace maize in the diets of quails, rabbits and African giant snails. Dr Grace Christopher was also a <strong>Lead Researcher and recipient of the TETFund Institution Based Research grant</strong> in 2018 and has published in reputable local and international journals. She is much sought after as a Consultant by corporate agricultural and agro allied organizations and the State government on livestock production projects. She has served the Department, Faculty and University in various capacities including, Departmental Examination Misconduct Board Secretary, Staff Adviser to various Students’ Associations; Unit Head of Rabbitary and Coordinator Departmental practical Training/SIWES programme. She has attended and presented papers at different conferences, workshops and seminars in Nigeria as well as being a member of some notable academic and professional institutes, associations and societies including; Nigerian Institute of Animal Science (NIAS), Animal Science Association of Nigeria (ASAN), Nigerian society for Animal Production(NSAP) and Research Network on African Giant Snails (NetGALS).</div><div>She is available for any research collaboration in the areas of evaluation of the potentials of non-conventional feedstuff as energy and protein sources in the diets of ruminant and non-ruminants. She is married with children and her hobbies include; writing, reading and cooking.</div>
