{"id":251,"date":"2021-06-18T10:05:29","date_gmt":"2021-06-18T10:05:29","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/aksu.edu.ng\/newsite\/?page_id=251"},"modified":"2025-07-10T12:50:26","modified_gmt":"2025-07-10T12:50:26","slug":"faculty-of-arts","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/aksu.edu.ng\/newsite\/faculty-of-arts\/","title":{"rendered":"Faculty of Arts"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\n\n\n\n<h2>About the Dean<\/h2>\n<ul><li><p class=\"MsoNormal\" style=\"text-align:justify\"><span style=\"font-family:&quot;Times New Roman&quot;,serif\">Iniobong\nDaniel Umotong is a Professor of Philosophy and the current Dean Faculty of\nArts, Akwa Ibom State University.&nbsp; Having\npreviously served as the Acting Head, Department of Religious and Cultural\nStudies (2012. 2013), and also as the Acting Head, Department of Philosophy\n2013 \u2013 2016 &amp; 2019 -2022), Coordinator General Studies 2012 -2016),\nCoordinator Postgraduate Studies Department of Philosophy, Postgraduate\ncoordinator Faculty of Arts (2016 -2022).&nbsp;\nHe has served in several committees within and outside the University\ncommunity. &nbsp;&nbsp;Prof. Umotong earned a\ndecoration with the Doctorate Degree (Ph.D.), Master of Arts Degree (M.A.),\nBachelor of Arts Degree (B.A. Hons) in Philosophy, Postgraduate Diploma in\nManagement (GDM), Master\u2019s Degree in International Relations (MSc.), and\nDiploma in Computer Science. <\/span>He has well-researched publications in\nreputable national and international journals and publishing firms around the\nglobe. Prof. Umotong\u2019s research interest includes, but not limited to,\nEpistemology, Metaphysics, African Philosophy. Peace and Conflict Resolutions,\nand Computer Applications.
