\u00a0 \u00a0 \u00a0 Benn Marshall<\/span><\/sign><\/p>\n\n\nMr.\nKufre I. Idiok was born in Anua, Uyo. He hails from Nkim Ibiono in Ibiono ibom Local\nGovernment Area of Akwa Ibom State. He attended Salvation Primary School,\nGoldie Street, Calabar and St. Patrick\u2019s College, Ikot Ansa, Calabar. He\nobtained Bachelor of Science honours in Economics from the University of\nCalabar, Cross River State.<\/o:p>

He was appointed into the Service of the Akwa\nIbom State University as Administrative Assistant in 2012. He is the current\nHead of Directorate of General Administration, Akwa Ibom State University. He has\nworked in the following Units in the University.<\/span>

3.  \n<\/span><\/span>Administrative Assistant (AA), AKSU Consult,\nMain Campus<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

4.  \n<\/span><\/span>Administrative Officer (AO) and Head, Junior\nStaff Establishments in the Directorate of Human Resources<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

5.  \n<\/span><\/span>Assistant Registrar (AR) and Head, Academic\nEstablishments in the Directorate of Human Resources<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

INTRODUCTION OF THE\nDIRECTORATE OF GENERAL ADMINISTRATION<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n

<\/span><\/strong><\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

The\nDirectorate of General Administration was set up as an administrative Unit in\nthe Registry and saddled with the statutory responsibility of handling all\nother duties not assigned to any Directorate in the Registry.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

The\nDirectorate of General Administration was therefore, established to implement\nManagement decisions and directives as well as follow-up on such\nimplementations to gather feedbacks for Registrar\u2019s attention and further\nnecessary actions.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

The\nDirectorate is an integral part of the Registry in Akwa Ibom State University\nand it came into existence as an autonomous Unit in November, 2016, through the\napproval of the Governing Council. <\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

The\nDirectorate is currently headed by a Senior Assistant Registrar and supervised\ndirectly by the Registrar.<\/span><\/p>\n

<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

Its\nfunctions include, but not limited to the underlisted:<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Routine\nadministrative duties as assigned;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Drafting\nof Goodwill messages;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Drafting\nof letter of Recommendation\/Introduction to foreign embassies\/High\nCommissioners for staff members;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Drafting\nof Condolence Messages;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Conveying\nnotice of events and ceremonies to the University Community as approved by the\nVice-Chancellor;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Secretariat\nfor Congregation;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Registration\nand Collation of tenders documents;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Drafting\nof general circulars;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Coverage\nof meeting, drafting of minutes and undertaking follow-up actions;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Co-ordination\nof Courtesy Calls and other engagements;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Management\nof space allocation for various events\/meetings in the University as approved\nby the Vice-Chancellor;<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

\u00d8 <\/span><\/span>Other\nadministrative duties as may be directed by the Registrar from time to time.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

It also\ncontributes in the discharge of many other functions within the Registry.<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

The\nDirectorate is divided into the following Units<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

1.)        \n<\/span><\/span>Postal lodge<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

2.)        \n<\/span><\/span>Courtesy Calls and Congregation<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>

3.)        \n<\/span><\/span>Management of space for\nmeetings\/events and general duties<\/o:p><\/span><\/p>
