Profile
Dr Imekan Isaac Akpan was born in Ukanafun, Niger Delta Region, Nigeria.He quitted the Polythenic employment to focus on research in the University environment.
He has a Ph.D degree in Hydrobiology with interest in pollution and toxicolgy; biodiversity; biological statistics and ecological monitoring.
He has been a former Coordinator of Postgraduate studies in the department of Zoology. He is currently coordinating various Postgraduate courses in the departments of Zoology and Marine Biology.
He is saddled with various responsibilties in the department and faculty.
He has published many articles in both Local and International journals.He is an active member of the following professional bodies: Association of Aquatic Sciences of Nigeria; Freshwater Biology Association of Nigeria; Fisheries Society of Nigeria; Nigerian Experimental Biology Association and Association for the Sciences of Limnology and Oceanography( ASLO).
