Profile


Dr. Victor Edet Ita hails from Aka Offot in Uyo Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State. He holds a Diploma in Public Administration (2001), B.Sc. in Political Science and Public Administration (2006), M.Sc. in Public Administration (2010) and Ph.D in Political Science with specialization in Comparative Politics (2017) from the University of Uyo, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State. 
He joined the services of Akwa Ibom State University in January 2018. Prior to his appointment, he served as a Part-time Lecturer in the Department of Political Science and Public Administration, University of Uyo (2012-2017). Dr. Ita has taught various Political Science and Public Administration courses as well as supervised numerous undergraduate students’ research projects. He has contributed chapters in books as well as published research articles on topical issues in renowned learned journals both locally and overseas. His current research interest is in the area of comparative governance and democratization in African. 
Dr Victor Ita has served the Department of Political Science and Faculty of Social Sciences in different capacities at both statutory and committee levels. He is a member of Nigerian Political Science Association (NPSA). 
His goal is to engage effectively in teaching, quality research and community development with the prospect of reaching the apex of his academic career, and to be a positive reference in the field of Political Science.
