 A BRIEF PROFILE OF 
DR. EKEWERE, OKON JOHN 
 
Ekwere, Okon John is a Lecturer in Department of Crop Science, Akwa Ibom State University. He holds a Ph.D. (2008) in Crop Production and Physiology, obtained from the Michel Okpara (Federal) University of Agriculture, Umudike, Nigeria. He also holds BSc. (ED) Hons. Agric. and M.Sc. in Crop Science, obtained from the University of Uyo, Uyo in 1992 and 2002 respectively. 

He joined the Akwa Ibom State University in 2012 at the rank of Lecturer II and has served as Departmental SIWES Coordinator, Examinations Officer and Member, Faculty Examinations Misconduct Committee. He was the Business Editor - AKSU Journal of Agriculture and Food Sciences; Member, Administrative Panel of Investigation of the Akwa Ibom State University. He is presently the Head, Department Crop Science and Deputy Dean, Faculty of Agriculture, Akwa Ibom State University. 

He has research interest in Farming Systems / Agronomy and has published over Thirty (30) peer reviewed articles in Local and International journals as well as Conferences proceedings. 

Dr. Ekewere is a member of the board of Assemblies of God, Osong Ama Estate Uyo, Nigeria. He is married to Mrs. Aliakot Ekwere.  The marriage is blessed with three children.
