Idorenyin Amaunam is a Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science, Akwa Ibom State University, Ikot Akpaden. He is currently studying for his PhD at the BCI-NE (Brain Computer Interface and Neural Engineering) laboratory, University of Essex, United Kingdom.

Idorenyin holds a Master of Technology (M.Tech) 2015, and Bachelor of Science (B.Sc (Hons)) 2011, degrees in Computer Science from the Federal University of Technology, Akure and University of Calabar, Calabar respectively.

He has previously authored research articles in recommender systems, computer vision, artificial intelligence and neural engineering. However, his research interest now lies in Brain Computer Interfaces (BCI), theoretical and applied machine learning, artificial intelligence, bio-signal and especially electroencephalography (EEG) and electromyography (EMG) signal processing, mutual learning and co-adaptation in BCI, cognitive, assistive and rehabilitation applications of BCI.

Idorenyin is a member of the Association of Computing Machinery (ACM), Brain Computer Interfaces (BCI) Society, Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineer (IEEE), and the Nigerian Computer Society (NCS).
