Profile

A professional with excellent analytical skills and proven ability to plan, organise and priortise workload to meet very tight deadlines. I possess relevant IT skills to adapt to new and challenging situations and have experience working both independently and in a team. Dr Godwin Okon Ansa is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Computer Science Akwa Ibom State University since 2019. I hold a National Diploma in Computer Science from the Akanu Ibiam Federal Polytechnic, Unwana, Afikpo, Ebonyi State (1995). A Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from the University of Uyo (2003), a Master of Science degree in Communication Networks and Software (2008) and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in Electronic Engineering (2013) both from the University of Surrey, United Kingdom.

I started my academic career in 2006 with the Akwa Ibom State University of Technology (AKUTECH), now Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU) as one of the pioneer teaching staff of the university. I was appointed Acting Head, Department of Computer Science between (2013-2015 and 2017-2020). I have been privileged to lead the Department twice as Ag. HOD to achieve full accreditation status for our undergraduate programme by the National Universities Commission (NUC) in 2014 and 2019 and the postgraduate programme (PGD and MSc) in 2019. I have been the Departmental Project Coordinator (2015/2016, 2016/2017), Level 400 Student Academic Adviser (2014-date). I am currently the Departmental postgraduate Programme Coordinator in the Department of Computer Science.

My research interests include Network Security, Delay Tolerant Networks, Cloud Computing Security, Internet of Things (IoT) and Artificial Intelligence (AI). I am a member of learned societies such as Computer Professionals (Registration Council) of Nigeria (CPN), Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE). I am widely travelled and have attended several international workshops, seminars and conferences. For my hobbies, I have a keen interest in cycling, reading, gardening and travelling
